Hassocks is a vibrant village underneath the South Downs  escarpment and just a few miles north of the city of Brighton & Hove, on the south coast.

It provides an excellent gateway from which to explore the beautiful South Downs National Park  and the South Downs area, with good access routes by rail, car, and cycle or on foot.

There are wonderful views of the Downs and the famous Jack and Jill windmills  from the village. From the Ditchling Beacon  and ridge there are further, spectacular views to the North Downs  and to the south coast.

The village offers a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and leisure opportunities including cycle hire, walking and cycle trails, horse riding, golf, and leisure activities.

From Edwardian times until the present day Hassocks has been a popular location for visitors. Further information about visiting Hassocks by train can be found on the Scenic Rail Britain website.

Hassocks is twinned with Montmirail , in France and Wald-Michelbach , in Germany.
