Hassocks Neighbourhood Plan.

Outline Time Frame of Events.

• 2013 – The Parish Council started detailed work on the Neighbourhood Plan.
• 2014 – This was refined in 2014, when a ‘call for sites’ was made.
• 19^th and 20^th September 2014 – Two Public Consultation days were held by Hassocks PC.
• January 2015 – The consultation days were followed by a site assessment, and every household in Hassocks was leafleted.
• 26^th February 2015 – A public meeting and workshop was held at Downlands School, Hassocks.
• 10^th/11^th July 2015  – Two further consultations events were held.
• 22^nd September 2015 – the Parish Council met at Downlands School   to agree the content of the Neighbourhood Plan.
• January 2016 – The Regulation 14 Neighbourhood Plan was issued and subject to detailed public consultation.
• June 2016 – The Regulation l6 Neighbourhood Plan was then prepared and submitted to Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) who accepted the Plan
• July-August 2016 –  MSDC  carried out a six-week public consultation.
• 2017 – MSDC refused to allow this Neighbourhood Plan to proceed to Examination by a Government Inspector.
• March 2018 – Following the adoption of the Mid Sussex District Plan, the Parish Council then started work on a new Neighbourhood Plan in June 2018.
• December 2018 – The revised Regulation 14  Neighbourhood Plan was issued for public consultation.
• January 2019 – Regulation 14 Pre-submission Consultation.
• 11 June 2019 – Members agreed the Draft Submission Neighbourhood Plan and approved its submission to Mid Sussex District Council.
• June 2019 – The Regulation 15 Submission Plan is submitted and accepted by Mid Sussex District Council.
• July 2019 – September 2019 –  MSDC Regulation 16 Public Consultation.
• October 2019 Independent Examiner, Mr Andrew Ashcroft, appointed by MSDC to assess Hassocks NP. Further information on MSDC Neighbourhood Plan website page.
• December 2019 – Examiner’s final report issued. Further information on MSDC Neighbourhood Plan website page.
• 7 January 2020 – Hassocks Parish Council resolves to accept the amendments and recommendations as proposed by the Examiner. HPC Full Council minutes 7.1.20
• 27 January 2020 – MSDC publishes a Notice of Referendum for Hassocks Neighbourhood Plan to be held on 5 March 2020.  Further information on MSDC website.
• 5 March 2020 – Hassocks Neighbourhood Plan Referendum was held.   A total of 94.8% of voted in support of the Neighbourhood Plan, the Plan will now be formally adopted by MSDC.
• 24 June 2020 – Hassocks Neighbourhood Plan ‘made’ by Mid Sussex District Council.  The final made plan can be read by clicking here.
